Son In Bak Kut Teh, Jalan Ipoh
We had a sudden cravings for bak kut teh for dinner, but there are not man options available for Bak Kut Teh at night. It's usually served for breakfast and lunch.
Drove all the way to Jalan Ipoh where there is a Bak Kut Teh stall that is open for dinner. Restoran Son In Bak Kut Teh is located at Jalan Ipoh (next to Ambank).
We ordered the pork meat with pork belly, "tau fu pok" and vegetables. The oily rice has a good fragrant smell to it.

Finally i found my all time favorite bak kut teh outlet that i have been following since 1995. Originally started by 3 brothers, a stall they set up around 7pm and seating along the verandah of the corner motor accessory shop, this bak kut teh is my preferred style. NO claypot mixture, this is pure Hokkien KL style bak kut teh at its best. The braised pork (lo yuk) is fantastic!!
What i like about this Bak Kut Teh is its authentic Hokkien style without the many variations nowadays. Choice of pork meat served in individual small bowls with the clear but flavorful soup, none of those chopped parsley or spring onions sprinklings or fu chuk and tofupok to spoil the taste. This is genuine Bak Kut Teh at its purest - Simply the Best!
